The big O`s effort capturing two prizes on the day as he doubled up his entry to include the Ballycommon Society`s outing, even though he played off the wrong tees! Third place went to Ger Kenny (16) on 36 points. Ger would have finished higher but his score was subject to an internal cut.

Turkey Shootout – Sponsored by Molloy Décor, Tullamore
After the ravages of Storm Desmond, Castle Barna was just about fit for play for last Sundays Turkey Shootout competition which was sponsored by Molloy Decor, Tullamore. Conditions underfoot were very soft but the greens were very receptive and John Lowbridge (15) took full advantage with some good approach shots, to record a excellent 43pts to bag the large turkey. After a long absence from the prizes it was good to see John Neylon (22) back on form, the Dublin man`s 40pts secured the runner up spot, the smaller turkey. Bracknagh`s Keith Bracken was beaten into 3rd place on count back and he had to be content with the giblets.
There is another turkey shootout next weekend and a reminder that the Free Sub competition continues for all single competitions throughout the winter months.
