Castle Barna Golf Club. 17th September.
The Vice Captain`s Prize (Dan Cunningham) was down for decision last Sunday. The fine conditions attracted a good entry after all the recent rain. Preferred lies were in place, but the rough was heavy and this effected scoring for all. Sean Doyle (15) took it all in his stride helped with birdies on the second and sixteenth the Rathangan man compiled 39 pts to claim Dan`s prize. Runner up was Conor Corcoran (14) finishing just one shot shy with 38 pts. David O`Connell (9) took the Div 1 spoils with 37 pts after a tie break. The same score and another tie break resulted in Tony Curley taking Div 2. 37 pts was a popular score and newcomer Eoin Hogan (16) recorded just that to claim Div 3. Veteran Seamus McGivney (22) was the victor in Div 4 on 35 pts. Walsh Kealy 9 Hole Championship: The popular 9 Hole event finished last Thursday. Ever present Pat Fay won the final round to rubber stamp his consistency over the summer to win the league.
