Castle Barna Men’s Club 18 June 2017

The Lady Captain (Mary Mangan) prize to the men was last weekend`s competition. Everyone enjoyed the brilliant sunshine, no more so than Kevin Gorman who recorded a fine 41pts to claim Mary Mangan`s prize. Runner up was Michael Molloy with 40pts by virtue of a countback from Shay Egan, Shay having the consolation of coming out on top in Div. 1. Vincent Murphy showed a return to form to capture Div. 2 with 38pts. Conor Corcoran recorded the same score to take the Div. 3 prize. Div. 4 went to Peter Mitchell with 36pts. Castle Barna recorded a fine win over neighbours Edenderry in the first round of the Tudenham Cup. Derek Hannon/Seanie Geoghegan & Michael Brereton/Nigel Molloy recorded comfortable home wins. In Edenderry Dan Shaughnessy/Ollie Scally won on the first game out on the 18th to clinch the tie overall. Shane Scally/Dan Cunningham were dormie and David Brazil/Donal Scally were all square, when both matches were called in. Best of luck to our Senior Cup Team as they contest the regional qualifier in Birr next weekend.
