May Medal GOY
28th May 2016
May Medal was played in glorious sunshine and the scoring was hot to match. Sean Doyle (16) must have no fear when it comes to stroke play events, as the Rathangan man secured back to back Medal wins with a terrific 66 net. Sean putting down a marker in the quest for the Roy O`Brien Trophy. Shooting a good 67 net to take the runner up spot was Stephen Quigley (14). Like the winner, and a former Rathangan hurler, Michael Brereton (3) made it back to back Gross wins with a one under round of 71. The consistant Robert Hogan (4) took second Gross with 73. 3rd Net, losing out on the runner up spot on countback was Mullingar resident Alan Leech (14) with 67. 4th Net after a level par front nine was young Henrich Cunningham (9) with 68.
There were high hopes for the Michael Moore Team, but made their exit from the competition going down 4 – 3 to a strong Birr team.
Next weekends competition is a Single Stableford, note that this is a GOY qualifier to replace the event lost to the weather last month.
Our seniors open continues every Tuesday and our open Stableford continues every Thursday.
