There was a great entry for 25th Anniversary Champagne Scramble last weekend. The event attracted visitors from far and wide with a number of them featuring in the prizes. Saturday was an ideal day for golf and it was no surprise that the winning scores were produced on that day. Leading the way with a terrific 104 Pts was the three generation Kelly team, Martin, Mark and Adam. Martin the senior of the group led the way with perhaps his best ever round and was ably backed up by his son Mark and grandson Adam.
In second place by virtue of a better back nine were Tom Sheering, Mick Dunne and John Kelly from Tullamore GC after scoring 102 Pts.
The New Forest team of Dave Bollard, Derek Doyle and Ewan Duignan had to be content with third.
Fourth went to Ken Fitzpatrick, Tom Dunn and Phillip Hannigan after scoring 101 Pts. Fifth place went to newcomers Paul Hickey, Niall Kilmurray and Dave Munroe on 99 Pts.
The best mixed team prize went to Greg Swift & Iris Swift (Newlands) who were partnered by Dave Cosgrave all the way from Anchorage, Alaska.
The longest drive on the 17th went to Dan Cunningham and nearest the pin was won by Derek Doyle.
Congratulations to Stephen Egan Jr who captured the club singles matchplay title after he overcame the challenge of Donal Scally in the final.
